"The main purpose of the department is to further the understanding of human movement and its relation to sport, exercise and health. We seek to advance, apply and disseminate relevant knowledge and expertise."
Sport and Exercise Science provides skills for working with people - to make them stronger, faster, more efficient, better able to deal with stress, and less susceptible to injury. This involves the study of physiological, psychological, biomechanical and sociological influences on human performance in sport, work, and exercise.
The Sport and Exercise Science programme is committed to developing high quality professionals interested in working in sport, exercise, movement science, health, ergonomics and rehabilitation. The Department is based in modern facilities at the Tamaki Campus of the University of Auckland.
