Doctor of Philosophy
The PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is an advanced degree that provides a qualification for students who may wish to pursue an academic or research career.
Students who have completed their BSC Honours in Sport and Exercise Science and/or masters, may choose to study a doctorate.
A quick guide to PhD admission
This checklist will guide you through the admission process.
- Make sure you meet the admission requirements as outlined at Entry Requirements.
- Fill out The University of Auckland Expression of Interest (EOI) form.
Please note: you may need to register before you can lodge your EOI form.
- Provide supporting preadmission documentation as mentioned in the EOI form.
- Find a supervisor from the Department.
- The EOI form and supporting preadmission documentation will be assessed by the Department’s Postgraduate Committee.
- The EOI form and supporting documentation will be assessed by the Faculty of Science and the School of Graduate Studies.
- If you are successful you will receive a conditional offer and will be invited to apply on line for admission. At this stage you will be required to submit verified copies of your admission documents, if you have not previously studied at The University of Auckland.
- Accept your offer online.
